Problem
A senior technology leader at a large organization wanted to embed customer-centricity within his leadership team but needed an effective way to align the team’s purpose and actions with customer needs. While the leader was already successful and highly capable, there was a need to formally structure how his team could operate in a more customer-focused manner.
Solution
Love IT collaborated with the leader to design a half-day workshop focused on customer-centricity. The workshop included a deep dive into the team’s purpose, identification of key customer groups, and role-playing exercises to help leaders understand their customers’ needs in a tangible and engaging way. By integrating existing customer feedback and data into the sessions, Love IT was able to facilitate a deeper connection between the leadership team and the customers they serve.
The workshop concluded with the creation of a leadership pledge, signed by all participants, committing to actions that would drive customer-centricity in the department.
Impact
The workshop received universal positive feedback from the leadership team, with support for its broader rollout to adjacent teams. The interactive and hands-on format helped the leadership team internalise the importance of customer-centricity, resulting in a gradual cultural shift within the team.
“A great session on which I’ve had pretty universal positive feedback and I think the format worked well to get people thinking a bit differently. A special thanks for integrating and flexing with all the twists and ideas on format on the way in and fantastically choreographing it on the day! Definitely something we need to think about with other adjacent teams here. The power of the connected exercise is just orders of magnitude above any online or trained materials we can do to try and nudge people.”
